Award Winning Energy Saving
Adande won the KFC UK YUM Supplier of the Year Award in recognition of us "delivering innovative technology to enable better operation and improve energy efficiency" and the FCSI/CESA Sustainability Award 2008
Metered energy tests in working kitchens have demonstrated that Adande's patented design brings significant energy savings. Usually in excess of 40%, savings of up to 66 % are often achieved when Adande units are compared to conventional cabinets.
Hydrocarbon increases Energy Savings
Hydrocarbon units are now available, saving users a further 19% on energy compared to Adande’s standard HFC units as used in the test detailed below.Test Results

Award Winning Sustainability
Adande Drawers were designed and built with sustainability in mind, and this led to us winning the prestigious FCSI/CESA Sustainability Award 2008 against blue chip competitors, including Rationale, Foster and Winterhalter.
We are also a past winner of the KFC UK YUM Supplier of the Year Award in recognition of us "delivering innovative technology to enable better operation and improve energy efficiency"
These are the benefits that make Adande a significantly more sustainable refrigeration product:
- Cold air stays with the food in Adande Drawers - In conventional cabinets the cold air falls out at every opening; that lost cold air is replaced by hot moist kitchen air that then has to be cooled down.
- Adande Drawers show savings of up to 57% on energy bills - “In use” like-for-like metered energy tests in working kitchens have demonstrated significant energy savings over conventional cabinets.
- Insulated parts are replaceable on Adande Drawers - When the foamed insulated parts fail on a conventional cabinet it goes to the land fill.
- Adande Drawers give fast, easy access to food - Conventional cabinets need to be much larger to provide equivalent access.
- No ice is required when Adande drawers are used for fish storage, saving the energy taken to produce the ice in the first place.
- Less food is spoiled, and storage times are increased, reducing food waste.
Energy Comparison - Pub Chain
The comparative test information in the following tables has been gathered from like-for-like metered energy trials conducted in a working kitchen of a large pub chain in the UK. The operator has determined the number of Adande Drawers to give equivalent capacity to existing units.

Energy Comparison - Contract Caterer
An existing upright chiller and 2 Adande Drawers were used in a live kitchen environment in a metered test to record energy consumption and temperature stability. Energy meters and temperature recorders were placed on the existing unit and Adande unit for a period of 1 month and operated under similar conditions and loadings.
Temperature Stability
The chart shows that the Adande Drawer maintained the set point at 3°C even during busy service periods, whereas the existing unit's temperature goes up to 10°C.

Forecast Annual Savings
The Adande unit provided energy savings of 67.6% operating in chiller mode against the existing upright cabinet.
In this one application the yearly saving of the Adande unit would be equivalent to:
- Annual Energy saving 1,500 kWhrs
- Annual CO2 reduction of 816 kg
- Cost reduction of £117 pa at an average 7.8 pence per kWhr
- Cost reduction of £150 pa at an average 10.0 pence per kWhr
